What is Roofline?

We are often asked 'what is the roofline on our home' by our customers.  The four elements that make up the bottom part of your home's roof are known as the Roofline. These are fascias, soffits, bargeboards, and gutters.

These four items are all intended to accomplish various things, but they are equally essential in keeping your home safe throughout the year. Whatever the weather is like, you need a professionally constructed UPVC roofline that will keep your house protected.

Fascias are the boards that run along the edge of your house's roof timbers. They support a lot of weight, including any extra strain from rainy, windy, or snowy weather conditions.

Consider that while it's raining heavily, several gallons of water per second can be dumped onto your roof, your roofline is dealing with a tremendous amount of weight. And yet, even with a great deal of strain from the weather, UPVC fascias are capable of holding up to it.

The soffit is the section of the roof that extends over the house. When you look up, the soffit is the board that covers the overhang of the roof. Soffits are less visible than fascias and are therefore better protected from weather exposure.

The bargeboards are an important component. These are just fascia boards that are fastened to the diagonal eaves of your property. Bargeboards, like conventional fascias, keep your home safe from the elements by covering the exposed edges of roof rafters and preventing moisture saturation.

The rainwater that collects on your roof is drained through the guttering. The guttering typically runs along the perimeter of the roof and is linked to a downpipe, which leads the rainwater into your home's drainage system.
